An Executive Workshop on Evaluating Impact Investing to be held on April 13-14, 2016 at the Alisa Hotel, Accra.
The Centre for Learning on Evaluation and Results (CLEAR), the Rockefeller Foundation and the University of Witwatersrand, School of Governance and Business School, and ET Jackson & Associates hosted a two-day executive education workshop on “Impact Investing: Building the Field, Measuring Success” in Johannesburg. The workshop offered a rich agenda of lectures and presentations by international experts and South African leaders in the field. The workshop also served as a platform to expand contacts and professional networks in both the evaluation and impact investing field in Africa.
On October 20, 2015, a lecture and panel discussion was organized in Accra entitled Impact Investing: Strategies for Mobilizing Private Capital for Ghana’s Transformation Agenda. Co-sponsored by the Venture Capital Trust Fund of Ghana, the GIMPA Centre for Impact Investing, and the Rockefeller Foundation, the event drew key players active in private equity investing in local SMEs as well as senior policy makers from the Bank of Ghana and Ministry of Finance as well as other key stakeholder groups. This lecture and panel discussion set the stage for an upcoming training workshop on building the impact investing industry in Ghana, and evaluating the effectiveness of impact investment programs, to be held in Accra in 2016.
